📍 Location: The Grind Café, Melrose Arch

In partnership with @vault_strengthclub , this run is more than just a fitness event — it’s a step towards change. We’re raising awareness about South Africa’s alarming rape crisis, with statistics revealing an unsettling increase in cases, particularly child sexual abuse. 💔

💡 Why Are We Running?
To support survivors during their most vulnerable moments. Reporting a crime can be deeply traumatic, especially when victims must relive their ordeal and leave their clothes as evidence.

To bring some comfort, we’re assembling Survivor Care Kits containing essentials like:
👚 For Adults: Tracksuit top & bottom, tote bag, wet wipes, lip balm, and underwear
🧸 For Children: Tracksuit top & bottom, tote bag, wet wipes, plush toy, and diapers

🎯 Our Goal: Fund 100 care kits for distribution to police stations and rape crisis centers in areas of highest need.

💵 Donations Are Compulsory for Entry and start from as little as R50! You can also donate the full cost of a pack at R400.

🔴 Run for a Cause: Creating awareness and supporting Survivors 🔴

This isn’t just a run; it’s a mission to confront the crisis of child rape and sexual abuse in South Africa. Every day, 48 children are raped, and 10 experience sexual assault. These numbers are overwhelming, reflecting a painful reality that many children and families endure.

Our run on January 25th, 2025, in partnership with @vaultstrengthclub, aims to raise critical awareness around these issues. We want to shed light on the alarming rates of child abuse while actively supporting survivors on their journey to healing.

💼 Why Survivor Care Kits?

Reporting rape or assault is highly traumatic, and survivors often have to leave behind their clothes as evidence. To help ease this difficult time, we’re providing Survivor Care Kits filled with essentials to restore some comfort and dignity. Each kit includes:

👚 For Adults: Tracksuit top & bottom, tote bag, wet wipes, lip balm, and underwear
🧸 For Children: Tracksuit top & bottom, tote bag, wet wipes, plush toy, and diapers

Our goal is to distribute 100 care kits to police stations and rape crisis centers, prioritizing the locations with the greatest need. By supporting the run or donating, you’re not only raising awareness but directly providing aid for survivors.

HRT helps relieve menopause symptoms by balancing your hormone levels.

📅 When should you start HRT?
It’s usually recommended when menopause symptoms begin affecting your daily life. Consult your doctor to find the right time for you.

⚠️ Can HRT cause cancer?
HRT can slightly increase the risk of breast cancer. The risk is low but increases with longer use. Always discuss your options with a healthcare provider.
